Loafers always prioritises using grain from Western Australian farmers for a vast majority of our flour, partnering with Millers Foods a WA owned and operated mill. For products unavailable from Western Australia we use artisan producers such as Four Leaf Milling and Kialla Pure Foods.

Organic grains are grown without pesticides and fertilisers and undergo strict certification. They are also not fortified with Folate and Thiamine. For more information on the meaning of organic please follow this link http://kiallafoods.com.au/why-organic/

Loafers Artisan is very excited to bring to the market place bread made with a new flour developed by Millers Foods. Loafers started as an organically focused bakery, however shortages in supply of organic wheat resulted in Damian looking at other solutions for Loafers products. After months of consultation, Millers Foods devised a concept of flour “Single Origin”. All of the wheat is sourced from the premium grain growing shire of Dalwallinu Western Australia. Together with his head baker, Damian found the cultivars grown in this area were the best for the process Loafers used for baking artisan bread.

For products where both organic and sigle origin flour is not suitable, Loafers sources export quality grains from Millers Foods.

Loafers started as a farmers market stall in October 2009 and has developed into Perth’s premier artisan bakery.
